In August 2017, the Ending Eclampsia project interviewed pre-eclampsia and eclampsia survivors in Bangladesh to better understand their experience accessing care. We also spoke to Dr. Rabia Akter, Senior Consultant in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Dhaka Medical College, where women from all over the country receive treatment for pre-eclampsia and eclampsia. This podcast shares one survivor’s pathway to care in Comila District – about 100 kilometers south east of Dhaka – and Dr. Rabia’s experience treating women in the eclampsia ward. It was recorded in the heart of Dhaka City, so please forgive the sound of honking rickshaws in the background.
